I love my iPad into a million teeny tiny itty bitty pieces. Not since my iPhone (and previously before that my MacBook Pro) have had such love for a gadget. The best part is experimenting with the cool apps (both free and paid…the former I prefer the most but purchasing apps is a necessary evil but really hurts especially after shelling out a G for the actual iPad…oh wait, I digress).

Here is my list for cool iPad Apps for the PR pro on the go–apps to help you with business and for pleasure:

  • For social networking: Hootsuite! If you aren’t using a platform that lets you monitor and manage your profiles then you are wasting precious time which PR pros don’t have alot of. With Hootsuite, you can monitor multiple Twitter, Facebook, Ping.fm, AND WordPress profiles. I live on Hootsuite and use it on my iPhone and laptop. It keeps me organized and lets me be involved in the conversations I want and need to be a part of. I also like Tweetdeck for managing my Twitter.
  • For jotting things on the go: I am a Post-it Queen but when it comes to jotting down a quick note, I like Notes Plus because it was inexpensive and I wanted to try out note taking. I like the how easy it is to use even though sometimes my handwriting comes out looking like a kindergartener’s but the shape recognition is really cool.Evernote is a cool app (and it’s free…it’s FREE!) that lets you take notes as well.
  • For a meeting while you are on the run: It is uber easy to attend online meetings with GoToMeeting. And wow, do we all go to so many meetings. Sometimes I think life is one big meeting. Le sigh. Also, you can tap into online meetings with WebEx.
  • For getting all of your news all at once: Pulse News Reader is my top choice for catching up on all of my news. Om my news reader I can look at the newest stories from Deirdre Breakenridge, PR Couture, Mopwater PR  + Media, PR Daily, PR Squared…and I can go on. Plus the latest version lets you get social with Facebook.
  • For tweaking that doc while you are on the train/plane/cab:  It’s a toss-up between iWorks Suite and the less expensive alternative Documents To Go.
  • For fun and/or some stress relief: I know you have heard about Angry Birds so I don’t have to sing its praises. Good ol’ fun. And if I get a game of Scrabble in after a long day, I’m a happy camper.
